The ULGES project (Local Ecosystem Management Units) is a replicable model for other territories with similar characteristics and a tool to address the demographic challenge. Its objective is to understand the reality of rural areas and their interconnection with urban needs, establishing a comprehensive strategic framework in the environmental, social, and economic spheres. Through the definition of specific models, it seeks to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Agenda, taking into account the implications for the different actors involved. <\/p>\n
The project’s approach promotes the active participation of all stakeholders in local ecosystem management and decision-making processes. Special emphasis is placed on improving the quality of life in rural areas, with the aim of fostering the attraction and retention of young people, as well as mitigating the phenomenon of depopulation, while ensuring the health and sustainability of ecosystems. <\/p>\n
