Summary<\/p>\n
The \u201cEsplugues \u2013 SDG Mission\u201d project was born out of citizens’ lack of awareness about the 2030 Agenda and the impact SDGs have on people’s lives.<\/p>\n
To this end, a global communication campaign has been created with a narrative thread and two characters: PODS, a hero committed to the 2030 Agenda SDGs, and NODS, a pessimistic and reluctant anti-hero regarding the SDGs.
\nA board game about the challenges and actions to achieve the SDGs in the city of Esplugues has also been created and distributed among citizens. In addition, from September to November 2023, an interactive game with prizes will be held for those who score the most points. The interactive game is designed collaboratively with various municipal services, as well as entities, businesses, educational centers, and other organizations in the municipality. Each agent joins the project as an ally and becomes an interaction point for the game. <\/p>\n
During these months, an interactive exhibition on healthy and sustainable eating will be held. In addition, there will be 3 city events (Game Festival, SDG Festival, and Children’s Rights Festival) and a good practice exchange day. <\/strong><\/p>\n Project Classification<\/p>\n This project includes actions for disseminating and raising awareness of the 2030 Agenda among citizens through participation and gamification.<\/p>\n Timeline<\/p>\n June to November 2023<\/p>\n Self-assessment block<\/p>\n PLANNING What were the objectives set for the project?<\/strong><\/p>\n -Raise awareness of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda and their impact on our daily lives. Is there a participation body or established structure with the different stakeholders?<\/strong><\/p>\n Yes, a collaboration agreement has been signed with the different stakeholders.<\/p>\n RESULTS\/MEASUREMENT Have the project results been measured based on local indicators?<\/strong><\/p>\n Key results include:<\/p>\n More than 120 municipal services, entities, businesses, companies, educational centers, and other institutions such as Sant Joan de D\u00e9u Hospital have partnered.<\/p>\n A hundred activities have been carried out, such as:<\/p>\n -the Game, Sports, and Percussion Festival, organized by the Playful Spaces Network and with the participation of the Esplugues Children’s Council. A festival evaluation form was used to ask if they knew about the SDGs. 3 out of 10 people responded that they had learned about them thanks to the festival. <\/p>\n -the SDG Festival, with workshops on environment and sustainability proposed by the Children and Adolescents Forum,<\/p>\n -the Eat, Act, Impact exhibition on healthy and sustainable eating,<\/p>\n -the immersive virtual reality experience on SDGs.<\/p>\n -the Children’s Rights Festival,<\/p>\n -the Playful Day, for exchanging good practices on play and city transformation.<\/p>\n -other activities such as talks, exhibitions, or workshops.<\/p>\n – The interactive SDG Mission game has featured more than 200 QR codes throughout the city.<\/p>\n Around 10,000 people have participated in one of the project’s activities.<\/p>\n TRIPLE IMPACT Is the project sustainable from an environmental, economic, and social point of view?<\/strong><\/p>\n Economically, a local business revitalization strategy has been implemented. Through the game, visibility is given, and prizes are shopping vouchers to be spent in businesses adhering to the project. <\/p>\n Socially, we work with the municipality’s associative fabric to co-create the project and provide them with tools and visibility. An example of this is the Game Festival on June 17, in which different associations participated by organizing activities around the SDGs. <\/p>\n Environmentally, the project has been designed with communication materials that are durable and reusable over time to minimize environmental impact.
