FEMP and the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda sign an agreement to strengthen the work of the Network

The signing of this Agreement focuses on channeling the nominal subsidy to FEMP for strengthening the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda.

Since March 2020, significant collaboration has been established between FEMP and the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda with the common goal of spreading knowledge and implementation of the 2030 Agenda among Local Entities in Spain.

In this regard, the alliances established have enabled numerous successful actions to be carried out. In almost 2 years, the Network has become the largest of the 10 networks and sections of FEMP.

At the next Board of Directors meeting, 10 new memberships will be approved, meaning the Network will have 427 affiliated Local Entities, bringing together more than 26 million inhabitants (55% of Spain’s population).

It is precisely to strengthen the Network that we sign this agreement today, with the aim of fostering coordination of actions for the local implementation of the 2030 Agenda, with a budget allocation of 600,000 euros.

With this, we will boost actions that the Local Entities of the Network have been requesting for the homogeneous implementation of the SDGs in the territory.

  1. Generation of knowledge resources for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at the local level.
  2. Definition of the set of indicators for the Sustainable Development Goals for monitoring, measuring, and reporting on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda by Local Entities.
  3. Training activities for Network members.
  4. Technical advisory service for Local Entities in the process of localizing and implementing the 2030 Agenda locally.
  5. Activities aimed at identifying and disseminating existing good practices in the localization of the 2030 Agenda within the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda.
  6. Holding conferences and meetings aimed at exchanging knowledge and good practices among the Local Entities that make up the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda.
