European recovery funds drive the implementation of the 2030 Agenda SDGs

The FEMP and its Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda are analyzing the calls for the Next Generation EU Funds, scheduled for the first half of 2022. This economic injection will impact the local level, and work is being done to ensure alignment with the SDGs.

In this regard, a website has already been set up providing specific information on both funds. This is a point of interest where Local Entities can consult relevant information on calls, regulations, training, and other useful aspects related to the recovery funds. Furthermore, it is worth highlighting the importance the FEMP wishes to give to the 2030 Agenda by including a section specifically reserved for this matter.

Other established channels will provide information regarding the Next Generation EU Funds and the Multiannual Financial Framework. Thus, “FEMP Responds” will serve as a direct communication channel for member Local Entities to submit questions. A tool for continuous information updates has also been activated via a pop-up highlighting the most relevant news for local administrations.

It is in this pop-up where information can currently be found regarding a new service launched by the General Secretariat for European Funds for managers of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), which addresses technical and functional queries. It provides access to content, useful documents, and extensive information on the PRTR.

With the European recovery funds, the FEMP will further broaden its commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the implementation of policies aimed at achieving its set objectives. This commitment will undoubtedly unite the efforts of the municipalities, provinces, and island councils belonging to the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda.
