The Governing Council of the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda has held its inaugural meeting, in which the 2024-2025 Action Plan was approved, in compliance with the mandates of the IV Assembly, held in Málaga on July 5, 2024. At this meeting, key decisions were made to continue advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through the Network.

Among the most relevant points, the Council has approved the incorporation of new Observer Partners:

• Federation of Municipalities of Cantabria

• Commonwealth of Municipalities La Serena

• Official Association of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects of Burgos

• Commonwealth Trasierra Tierras de Granadilla

• Intermunicipal Commonwealth of Alto Palancia

With these new memberships, the Network will have a total of 29 observer partners, consolidating its role as a reference point in the localization of the 2030 Agenda.

Furthermore, the Governing Council has approved the holding of the V Assembly of the Network, which will take place in Vitoria, in the last quarter of 2025.

In addition, the venues for important events scheduled for 2024 have been agreed upon, which will be held with the support of the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and the 2030 Agenda, including:

• The Training of Trainers Course for the localization of the 2030 Agenda in November 2024 in Alcobendas (Madrid).

• A Workshop on Indicators, in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Girona, in the second week of December 2024.

• A Workshop on Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development, in Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz), which will be held between November and December 2024.

• A Coordination Meeting among the supramunicipal entities of the Network, in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Barcelona, in the months of November or December 2024.

The meeting of the Governing Council reinforces the commitment of the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda to promote sustainability and foster collaboration among Local Entities and supramunicipal entities throughout Spain.
