FEMP and the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda sign a collaboration agreement

One of the first actions will be the Conference “The 2030 Agenda in the Action of Local Governments”.

Madrid, November 2, 2021.- The Secretary General of FEMP, Carlos Daniel Casares, and the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda, Enrique Santiago, have signed a collaboration agreement between both entities at the Federation’s headquarters for the implementation of the SDGs at the local level. Casares and Santiago highlighted that this further strengthens necessary cooperation, “in the final countdown to 2030,” and agreed that “the role of Local Governments is fundamental for the objective to become a reality, to move from words to deeds in something as sensitive as the 2030 Agenda and its goals and targets.”

The Agreement aims to promote actions and initiatives aimed at strengthening the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda to contribute to the priorities established in the 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy. These are framed within the actions contemplated in the framework agreement between the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, for the launch and development of actions aimed at the localization and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda at the local level, signed on February 10, 2021.
