On July 5, the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) was formally established during the IV Assembly held in Malaga. The Network currently has 637 local entities committed to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.

Among the aspects approved during the Assembly, the composition of the Network’s Governing Council stood out. Toni Pérez, President of the Provincial Council of Alicante and Mayor of Benidorm, presided over the IV Assembly, accompanied by Angel Viveros, Mayor of Coslada, as First Vice President, and Lorena Orduna, Mayor of Huesca, as Second Vice President. The 15 memberships that make up the Governing Council were approved, including the participation of the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and 2030 Agenda and the councilors of the following Local Entities:

• Calahorra City Council
• Curtis City Council
• Guadalupe City Council
• Pineda de Mar City Council
• Riba-roja de Túria City Council
• Rivas Vaciamadrid City Council
• San Javier City Council
• San Lorenzo de El Escorial City Council
• Villanueva de la Torre City Council
• Villarramiel City Council
• Villarrobledo City Council
• Provincial Council of A Coruña
• Provincial Council of Huelva

The Network aims to coordinate actions to promote the cross-cutting application of the SDGs in local and provincial public policies. In this context, the new work plan for the years 2024-2025 was approved, aimed at strengthening collaboration between entities and optimizing the implementation of the SDGs at the local level.
