The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), through its Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda, has presented eight examples of success stories in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at the local level as part of the “2030 The Time Is Now” campaign, with the aim of promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda in local policies throughout Spain.

The city councils of Andújar, Fuenlabrada, Hernán-Pérez, Onda, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, and La Torre del Valle, together with the island council of El Hierro and the provincial council of Córdoba, are the protagonists of this first selection of best practices. Their dedication and commitment to the 2030 Agenda, as well as the implementation of actions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), have been fundamental to their inclusion in this showcase. The projects include the restoration of natural spaces, the promotion of local heritage and culture, environmental sustainability, and active citizen participation.

A campaign to inspire and move toward a sustainable future.

The “2030 The Time Is Now” campaign seeks to inspire other local entities regarding the benefits of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in their policies and emphasizes the importance of building sustainable municipalities and societies. The FEMP, through its Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda, continues to work to drive the implementation of the SDGs in municipalities, provincial councils, island councils, and island boards throughout Spain, promoting partnerships for sustainable development.
