Armilla (Granada), June 30 and July 1, 2026.- The Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) held a meeting of the OKR Focus Group on June 30 and July 1 in Armilla (Granada), a workspace focused on exploring new methodologies to advance the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level.

During the meeting, technical managers from various local and provincial entities shared experiences and tools to integrate the SDGs more efficiently into public administration. The session focused especially on the use of Objectives and Key Results, known as OKRs, a methodology that allows for clearer prioritization, team alignment, and progress measurement.

The main objective has been to move towards management models that help overcome the departmental vision of public policies and foster greater coordination among areas, projects, and teams involved in local sustainability.

From Reflection to Action

Throughout the day, participants analyzed the current challenges of local administration in a complex global context, marked by climatic, technological, and social challenges. In this framework, it was highlighted that sustainability cannot be understood solely as a set of technical objectives, but as a cross-cutting commitment that must be present in public planning, management, and decision-making.

During the sessions, the importance of connecting the daily work of administrations with the purpose of the 2030 Agenda was emphasized. “Professional purpose is the compass that should guide our daily work,” it was noted at the meeting, underscoring the need to align individual and collective goals with the global strategies of each entity.

The work was structured in different stages of learning and collaboration, facilitating that Network members could identify common challenges, share solutions, and advance in defining work routes applicable to their respective administrations.

A Shared Commitment

This meeting has allowed for the consolidation of new lines of collaboration between local and provincial entities, reinforcing the role of the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda as a space for knowledge exchange, shared learning, and the dissemination of good practices.

Through these types of processes, local entities advance in their capacity to implement more coordinated, measurable, and effective public policies to respond to the needs of citizens, contributing from the local level to the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda.
