The Provincial Council of Barcelona will host the III Assembly of the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda
The Provincial Council of Barcelona will host the III Assembly of the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda next autumn. An event that will bring together the nearly 400 Local Governments adhering to the initiative led by FEMP and that has already implemented policies and actions aimed at achieving the objectives set by the 2030 Agenda.
The decision was made at the meeting held today, February 16, by the Governing Council of the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda. It was also agreed to incorporate five new observer partners who will work on the development and implementation of the SDGs. Thus, pending the mandatory ratification by the FEMP Governing Board, the University of Castilla-La Mancha, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Federation of Local Entities of the Balearic Islands, Fons Mallorquí de Solidaritat i Cooperació, and the Association of Civil Engineers will be added.
At that same meeting, it was decided to continue working on the Agreement with the State Secretariat for the 2030 Agenda. This is an ambitious collaboration agreement that will strengthen the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda and the work it has been carrying out since its establishment. It will also involve the implementation of actions for member entities that will be specified in advisory services, training, best practices, meetings and events scheduled for the year 2022.
