The Provincial Council of Málaga, host of the IV Assembly of the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda

Málaga is preparing to host the IV Annual Assembly of the Network of Local Entities for the 2030 Agenda on July 4 and 5, 2024. This important meeting, which will be held in close collaboration with the Provincial Council of Málaga, represents the joint effort to advance the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level.

The call for this Assembly follows the meeting held a few weeks ago in Madrid with the President of the Network Antonio Pérez Pérez, Mayor of Benidorm, and the two Vice Presidents: Ángel Viveros Gutiérrez, Mayor of Coslada; and Lorena Orduna Pons, Mayor of Huesca.

At the midpoint of the deadline established by the United Nations to achieve the SDGs, it is necessary for Local Governments to intensify their efforts to ensure that no individual or community is left behind. As the institutions closest to citizens, Local Governments play a fundamental role in the effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda, ensuring a multi-stakeholder and multilevel approach that promotes sustainable development.

During these two days in Málaga, experiences and knowledge will be shared with the political and technical representatives of the Network, together with the Observer Partners and Collaborating Partners who are also part of it, addressing both the progress achieved and the challenges identified at the local level to advance the fulfillment of the SDGs.

The Annual Assembly to be held during the month of July will also specify the work plan for the coming months, thus outlining the concrete actions to continue promoting the Sustainable Development Goals from the local level.
